Introduction to Arithmetic

Welcome to Arithmetic!

Arithmetic is the foundation of all mathematics. It involves four basic operations that you use every day:

  • Addition (+) - Combining numbers together
  • Subtraction (-) - Taking away or finding the difference
  • Multiplication (×) - Repeated addition
  • Division (÷) - Splitting into equal parts

Real-world Examples:

🍎 Addition: You have 3 apples, your friend gives you 2 more. How many do you have?

💰 Subtraction: You have $10, you spend $3. How much is left?
